Foundations and Donations

When I first decided that I wanted to give back to a foundation, I could not decide which organization to give back to. So I opted in to choosing two!

I have always had a heart for animals and a desire to adopt as many as I can afford, so that is why I chose our local animal shelter. Every animal deserves a home and if we can't give them that, hopefully we can help in some other way. Growing up, my family always had pets - dogs, cats, bunnies. I have loved them all as if they were my own children or my best friends. I currently have the luxury of loving on three very sweet rescues, and cannot wait to add to the fur family. I have no malice for anyone who chooses a perfect purebred fur baby, but there are ALWAYS sweet babies waiting to be loved at your local shelter.

The American Cancer Society is a bit heavier, but still so close to home. In 2008, my family went through the painful process of learning that my father had been diagnosed with Stage 3 Gastric Cancer. His prognosis was six months. While the pain of his passing was traumatic and changed the course of my family's lives forever, I could not be more grateful for a foundation that helps those who are still fighting the beast, and the loved ones who stand by their side. Cancer of any kind is a beast that gnaws on its prey and those that fight to the last bite are heroes in their own right. For that reason, I hope that our contribution can help even just one person.
